Bayern Munich forward Luis Diaz admits he has been surprised by the complete package possessed by Harry Kane after forming a formidable partnership with his new team-mate this season. The star duo have been in scintillating form in front of goal to help the Bundesliga champions win their opening eight games in all competitions in 2025-26.
Diaz loving life at Bayern following move from Liverpool
Diaz, 28, has made an instant impact since joining Bayern from Liverpool in a £65.5 million (€75m/$88m) deal in the summer, recording three goals and three assists apiece in just five league appearances. Vincent Kompany’s men have tasted victory in all five of those games against RB Leipzig, Augsburg, Hamburg, Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen, while they have also beaten Stuttgart in the German Super Cup and Wehen Wiesbaden in the German Cup. Bayern also defeated Chelsea 3-1 in their Champions League opener on September 17, with Kane scoring twice at the Allianz Arena.

Kane has also enjoyed a remarkable start to the 2025-26 campaign. The England captain has registered 10 goals and three assists in the same five league games as Diaz, with two of them coming in a record-breaking evening against Werder on Friday. After finding the back of the net twice in Bayern’s thumping 4-0 win, Kane took his goal tally at Bayern to 100 in 104 appearances, becoming the fastest player to reach that mark in Europe’s top five leagues this century.

However, while Kane has been widely regarded as one of the world’s best players for a number of years now, Diaz has since revealed that the striker’s all-round game has completely amazed him since working with him day-in, day-out at Bayern.
Revealed: Diaz explains why 'brutal' Kane has surprised him
In an interview with German publication when asked which Bayern team-mate has impressed him the most since joining the club, Diaz said: "Harry Kane! From my time at Liverpool, when he was still at Tottenham, I knew he scored a lot of goals. But when I first trained with him, I thought, 'This guy is brutal!'
"He does everything, scores goals, shapes the play, and even defends. He totally surprised me. I'm very happy to be playing alongside him now."
