Portugal midfielder Ruben Neves has revealed a new tattoo dedicated to late team-mate Diogo Jota after linking up with the national team.

The Portugal national team are back working together for the first time since Jota was tragically killed in a car crash in July. Manager Roberto Martinez has already confirmed that Jota's No. 21 shirt has been passed onto his close friend Neves, and the midfielder has also now shown off a new tattoo dedicated to the late Liverpool star.

The team also held a ceremony at the team's base to pay tribute to Jota. Cristiano Ronaldo and the squad were joined by Jota's family, Portugal FA chiefs, the Portuguese President and Prime Minister and agent Jorge Mendes in an emotional occasion. Jota's widow Rute Cardoso unveiled a bronze shirt in memory of Jota as part of the ceremony, while Neves delivered a touching speech.

Neves spoke about his tattoo of Jota and said: "He's a very special person to me and a way of seeing him on the field. I promised I would remember him as much as I could. All these details are a way of bringing him to me and to all my achievements and challenges."

Portugal are set to play World Cup qualifiers over the international break. Martinez's men travel to Armenia on September 6 and then face Hungary in Budapest three days later.
