The Three Lions secured their place in Sunday's final with a dramatic win over the Dutch on Wednesday evening, Ollie Watkins' 90th minute strike making the difference in Dortmund. That came after controversy surrounding England's equaliser, with Denzel Dumfries penalised for catching Harry Kane and conceding a penalty.

Wiegman watched the match while in the awkward position of being the manager of England's women's team and also a Dutchwoman, with her having even guided her homeland to a European title in 2017.
WHAT WIEGMAN SAID
Speaking about the result on Thursday morning, ahead of two huge Euro 2025 qualifiers for the Lionesses, Wiegman said: "Congratulations on the win. To be really honest, of course I wish the very best for Gareth and the team, but it did hurt. My orange heart hurt!"
Forward Lauren Hemp added: "It was a great result for England and all of us girls were so excited and buzzing. Everyone was watching it together and we were all really excited. Obviously, England left it to the last few minutes, like they usually do, but that made it more exciting. They have their game at the weekend and we have two very important games coming up so it would be nice for us to share that success together with us getting a couple of wins as well."
DID YOU KNOW?
The men's team's incredible run means that England have had a senior team in a major tournament final in each of the last four years now. Prior to this achievement, Southgate's side were in the Euro 2020 final (played in 2021), the Lionesses won Euro 2022 and then backed that up by reaching a first Women's World Cup final last summer.
"We all know that football worldwide is the biggest sport. In England it’s on a different level since I came in and worked here," Wiegman said of that fact. "It’s so deep in society and the people support so much and it’s incredible, of course. I never, ever take it for granted. I think the whole country should be very proud of what, at this moment, the England men do. It’s not easy, that’s what we’ve seen too. It’s good to be English at the moment.”
