According to Sky Sports, German outfit Borussia Monchengladbach are considering making a move to sign West Ham United’s Reece Oxford on a permanent transfer in the upcoming January window.
The 19-year-old centre-back has previously spent two loans spells at Gladbach, making seven Bundesliga appearances across the two stints. Whilst those loan moves couldn’t be considered huge successes, the Hammers’ defender is extremely talented and could still have a very bright future ahead of him.

The 6ft 3in tall Oxford must get back to playing regular football to ensure that his huge potential does not go to waste. However, it seems very unlikely that his future still lies at the London Stadium.
Having initially broke into the West Ham first team as a 16-year-old in 2015 – becoming the Hammers’ youngest ever player in the process – Oxford’s career has not gone to plan since then. A move to Germany, which has already worked wonders for other English youngsters such as Jadon Sancho, Reiss Nelson and Ademola Lookman, could be exactly what the teenager needs.
What do you think, Hammers fans, should Oxford be offloaded permanently in January?
