With Gary Hooper missing for the majority of the season Sheffield Wednesday needed to call upon someone else to grab the goals.
In his absence, Steven Fletcher has stepped up and his performances have now been recognised by receiving his third Wednesday Player of the Month award in a row.
The Scot notched two goals in four games during the month of March which was enough to see him win the accolade.
Reacting on Twitter, fans of the Owls were delighted for him with some saying it was richly deserved.
There was plenty of praise for the 32-year-old, who was branded better than Billy Sharp in a dig at the club’s rivals Sheffield United. He was also labelled as the best in the division by one adoring supporter.
The 6 foot 1 striker is Wednesday’s top scorer this season with ten goals in 34 league outings. The striker has also claimed two assists and averages 2.4 shots per game.
