Tottenham made a move to sign Palermo youngster Abel Hernandez in the summer, according to the player’s representative.
The 20-year old Uruguayan is highly sought after and has just made the step up to the full national team in August, where he scored on his debut.
Hernandez has attracted plenty of interest with both Arsenal and Atletico Madrid heavily linked with him at the back end of last season; however it was Tottenham who made their move for the young striker at the start of the summer, according to the player’s agent Vincenzo D’Ippolito:
“In May, Tottenham asked Hernandez to leave Palermo, but the deal never occurred because [Palermo President] Maurizio Zamparini said the player was unsellable.” SkySports
Judging by the footage it is no wonder Hernandez is in demand and should he maintain the form displayed last season, Spurs won’t be the only club trying to force Palermo to sell their talented marksmen.
