Asensio opened the scoring for the Parisians, applying the finishing touch on a well-worked move with an angled volley into the bottom corner. Kolo Muani added the second, turning home from close range after Marco Bizot diverted Asensio's low effort into his path. Brest pulled one back in the second half, with a Danilo Pereira deflection carrying the ball past Gianluigi Donnarumma and into the net. And they completed the comeback with 12 minutes remaining as Mathias Pereira Lage provided a flashy backheel finish to ensure that the two sides shared the spoils.

In the early weeks of the season, it seemed Asensio could be the player to make this winger-heavy Parisian attack work. But after injury struck, the Spaniard looked a peripheral presence for a few weeks. On Sunday, though, he showed signs of his old self. The former Real Madrid star took his goal wonderfully and had a key involvement in the other. And perhaps more importantly, he moved in and out of space effectively, creating little pockets for the Parisians' other forwards to exploit.
GettyTHE BIG LOSER
Everything Mbappe does for the next few months will be under a microscope. Is every pass perfect? Is every finish accurate? When will he announce his move to Spain? It will be admittedly difficult to focus on the football. Mbappe didn't help himself here. The French forward was slightly off all evening, with loose touches and overhit passes amounting to an underwhelming showing from one of the world's best. These are the games he is supposed to win for his side.
